High-tech interventions deliver huge childbirth bill

Today's USA Today looks at how high-tech interventions in childbirth are causing soaring health care costs. Consider this: Childbirth is the number one reason for hospitalization in the United States. And chew on this: More than $2.5 billion, that is $2,500,000,000, is spent on unnecessary cesarean sections in the United States alone. More fodder for our fight to fully integrate midwives into our maternity care system!
